Ice Cream - Product Review

So after trying out ice cream products I have decided that their line of hair care as in after care for dyed hair is total crap.

Ice Cream Hair Color Chart

As for their line of dyes... well they are only good due to their competition. By competition I mean box hair dye found in the drugstore since that is what they are sold in competition with. The reason Ice Cream is better is due to the fact you decide the level of peroxide/ bleach you need to apply to your hair in order to attain the color of your choice. For example with you are going a shade lighter you may need only a low percentage of bleach with your color. Versus if you are going darker you hardly need a any bleach. As we know box dye don't know your hair color so they just put a standard amount of bleach which ruins your hair. But in conclusion it is always best to research your needed hair color and bleach percentage before dying your own hair. Otherwise please go to a salon cause it the only way you can get what you want. As I've learn't from dying my hair at home .... have a open mind cause you don't always get what you want!

New Products

Well if you have been following my blog you may have noticed I've been MIA. So since I have finished school for the time being I will review some products in the up coming weeks! YAAAY

The first is 2 products from ICE CREAM to fix my hair which I somehow dyed a horrible shade of orange when trying to add highlights. So now I am trying to go for a Marie Kate and Ashley Olsen look with the light blonde and dark roots. The products I am using will be hair colouring cream 9/1 and an oxidizing perfumed emulsion cream of 20%.

The next product helps the first. It is a Pro -Age conditioner with argan oil also from Ice Cream which you spray on the end of hair and leave in. This product will hopefully give some life to my bleached and damaged hair!

The last product is from Neostrata and is a Skin Renewal Peel Solution. Well this is simple I want tight bright skin and no more acne. I'm nineteen and my skin decided to go through puberty finally!

If anyone is from Canada you might realize I went H.A.M. at Shoppers Drugmart or as we say in Quebec Pharmaprix.

FALL BLUES (Chanel Le Vernis)

Its official. The end of summer is here *sigh*. While the weather in Montreal is still relatively warm, its hard to ignore the change in foliage and the leaves on the ground. What else would one expect, it is in fact October 1st!?

Personally, I love this time of year. For me it means switching into the comfort of my staple fall clothes and boots as well as transitioning my makeup routine into deeper tones to compliment the season.

One aspect that I find necessary in my beauty routine is to trade in my hot summer nail polish tones for a more neutral fall look. While visiting Paris this past summer,  we went to Chanel in search of some new colors to use for a versatile day to day look. I usually steer towards dark colors like a deep red or burgundy, but I decided to switch it up and set my sights on a navy blue tone called "Blue Rebel".

To put it lightly, I LOVE this color. This time of year I find myself wearing more denim which perfectly compliments this matte tone. Chanel has a wide variety of blue tones that I definitely recommend you discover for yourself. The nail color is quite long lasting, however, to maintain my nails underneath I match it with Butter London Nail Foundation and Topcoat. I always rave about Butter London as they have amazing quality and variety when it comes to nail care as their ingredients don't wreck havoc on your nail beds. Always a plus!

So that is what I am wearing this season!

Nail Color recommendations for Fall? Let us know what you think!

Chanel Le Vernis "Blue Rebel":  $29.00
Butter London Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat: $22.50
Butter London Hardwear P.D Quick Top Coat: $22.50

New York Fashion Week Spring 2013 Makeup Looks

Vera Wang
A smoky eye can come in many colors but the rose gold shades used backstage at Vera Wang had us transfixed. Clé de Peau makeup artist Lucia Pieroni achieved the pink-y gilded effect by sweeping a gold shadow over the lid, a brown in the crease and a bronze (damped with water to intensify the shade )

Rodarte
Modern medieval was the inspiration behind the heavy gelled hairstyle spotted here. An extreme side-part began just above the ear and tapered off to the crown, creating the illusion of hair that was closely shorn to the scalp. As for the makeup, simple proved to be most striking. NARS makeup artist James Kaliardos swirled a light pink blush on the cheeks and shined up lips with clear, glisten-y gloss.

Marc by Marc Jacobs
Shiseido makeup artist Dick Page said << To avoid a "color fight" he kept the skin simple—no blush or bright lip—and instead smudged dark cream liner around the eyes for a soft, smoky eye that hit the right tone.>>

Trend Update : NYFW Edition

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK: SS14 MAKEUP TRENDS

If you've been following the excitement of NYFW as much as I have, you will have noticed one constant when it comes to makeup trends.

The ORANGE LIP!

Hate it or love it, its here to stay. Seen on the likes of runway shows by DKNY and Prabal Gurung, the orange lip is paired with very minimalist and natural makeup. This brings all the focus to the statement lip color! Just like a red lip, there is an orange shade for everyone. So if you decide to follow this trend be sure to find a shade that matches your complexion.

My question to you is what do you think of this new trend? LOVE/HATE? Let me know!
Happy trending makeup mavens!
